Wave adventure
For 27 years, Wave Adventure has been transforming lives through the power of adventure, inclusion and community. Founded with a passion for creating opportunities for people of all ages and abilities, the charity has spent nearly 30 years inspiring confidence, wellbeing and personal growth through outdoor experiences and inclusive activities.
At the heart of Wave Adventure’s mission is a commitment to removing barriers that prevent people from taking part. Whether those barriers are financial, physical, social, or emotional, the charity works tirelessly to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to experience adventure, build confidence, and feel part of a supportive community.
For nearly three decades, Wave Adventure has supported thousands of individuals, families, and communities by creating safe, accessible, and empowering experiences that encourage people to challenge themselves, develop new skills and discover their full potential.
Today, Wave Adventure continues to grow while staying true to its original values, making adventure accessible to all and creating positive change through participation, resilience, and connection. With the support of dedicated staff, volunteers, and partners, the charity remains committed to helping people overcome obstacles, improve wellbeing and create lasting memories for generations to come
In May 2024 WAVE Adventure went from being an unincorporated charity (No 1152259) to being a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) (No. 1208050) in order strengthen legal and organisational structure.
Everything about our mission and goals for the charity remain the same.
about us
We are passionate about outdoor adventure, the environment and introducing people to healthy new activities. With a strong environmental focus, we work with under-served communities to make sure those from a wide range of under represented groups can take part.
Wave Adventure organise programmes with individuals and groups of all ages and abilities.
Our model ensures that highly experienced outdoor practitioners, therapists and people with lived experience work together to maximise the impact on the lives of participants.
Our activities include indoor and outdoor bouldering & climbing, kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, mountain walking, gorge walking, scrambling and mountain biking. We have a great leadership and volunteering development programme for all our members
Wave Adventure will take you kayaking across Lancashire’s dramatic landscape, or above it through climbing experiences where you can enjoy the stunning views the North West has to offer.
Our adventures and programmes with under served and under represented communities are provided free or charge.
Health and Wellbeing
At Wave Adventure the goal is to promote the health and well being of our members by offering fun activities in a supportive environment. Regular participation in sport and leisure activities is proven to not only improve physical health, but have a positive impact on mental and emotional wellbeing too.
Taking part in team sports and group activities can significantly improve fitness, communication skills and build confidence.
Best of all, we can adapt our sessions to your needs so the activity is as gentle or as challenging as you want. Why do we do this – because WAVE Adventure is for everyone!
